That's heavy, Doc.
Infrastructure? Where we're going, we don't need infrastructure.
Ever since the phrase "win the future" began winging around after President Obama's State of The Union address, I've had this image stuck in my head. So, much like how listening to a song sometimes dislodges it from your psyche, I made this.
That catchphrase itself isn't all that great. In fact, it's a little goofy, which is why I think that upon hearing it my thoughts meandered as such:
"Win the future? What? That doesn't really make sense. How do you win something you never actually get to? The future just sort of hovers in the distance. Hovers? Hoverboards You know who really did win the future ..."
The answer, of course, is Marty McFly.
So, perhaps our nation needs to travel back to the 1950s and help our forefathers muster the courage to punch Biff in the face.
Then we'd all finally own that truck we always wanted, and we'd get to date Elisabeth Shue instead of that other girl.
Whatever image that phrase is supposed to evoke (Sputnik, maybe?), this is the one I got, and now, hopefully, you can't unsee it. Beep.
And before anyone starts a flame war, this is neither an endorsement nor a rebuke of any political person, party or platform. It's just a silly mashup and an excuse for me to play with Adobe Illustrator.
After all, who is more bipartisan that Marty? Did he care who was president in 2015? No, he was just worried whether he and Jennifer became assholes (they didn't, but something had to be done about their kids) and maybe about ripping off some bookies.
So, in the spirit of Martin J. McFly, I say let's put aside our differences, hike up our Calvin Klein underwear and focus the important things in life, such as electric solos and keeping Biff away from our Moms.
